THEME HOSPITAL 2 MAC MAC
The opening of the summer school will take place on Friday, June 9th with the customary event at the Mac Diarmada homestead in Corranmore by Cllr Sean McDermott, Leitrim County Council.
The event theme for June 2023 is “Ireland’s place in a world in crisis, examining the cultural, economic, political and social effects on Ireland in the midst of a global crisis.” This will be a feature of the summer school going forward and was one very positive outcome for the event after two long and twilight years of lockdown and semi-lockdown during the pandemic. We are really looking forward to people coming in the physical sense to the village for what promises to be a very stimulating and educational event.įor those people that are living abroad or are unable to make the physical event they can go to and book the various lectures online from the comfort of their own homes as live streaming will take place again this year in conjunction with the actual event taking place in the Holiday Centre. In 20, the school successfully went to a virtual platform where we had an audience from the UK, America, Dubai, Switzerland, France and Australia. This is the second physical event since June 2019 because of Covid. All roads lead to Kiltyclogher on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June where The Sean MacDiarmada Summer School 2023 takes place.
